This fund is for a sponsor interested in reducing carbon emissions, driving innovation, and inspiring community action as we work towards a low-carbon future.

The Climate Fund will be a bespoke community grants programme co-created with the sponsor. It will support grassroots projects and resilient communities, foster innovation, promote renewable energy, and help achieve the Lake District’s Zero-Carbon ambition.

Why is it Needed?

Climate change is impacting the Lake District’s landscape and communities, altering weather patterns, increasing the frequency of extreme events, and changing conditions for wildlife.

This fund is designed to support communities in transitioning to a low-carbon lifestyle, helping to mitigate these effects and protect the Lake District’s natural beauty.
